TEACHER BIO

A little about me….

I was born in El Paso, and have lived in McAllen, San Antonio and Houston.

My first degree was a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Texas at El Paso (1978).  After graduation, I worked with AT&T for 12 years.  Then I made a major decision - resign from a fabulous job, go back to college and get a degree in education.  My second degree was in Elementary Education from the University of Houston (1992) with a focus on Early Childhood.  I received my Master’s in Education (Administration) from Concordia University (2012).  I have certifications in Elementary Education (PreK-6), ESL, Gifted and Talented, and Administration (Principal).

I have been teaching over 20 years in grades 2, 3, and 4 in CyFair ISD and Klein ISD.   I have taught both math and reading, but during the last 8 years, I was self-contained, where I taught all subjects.  In June 2015 I retired, but continued subbing and tutoring in both school districts.  I missed the students too much, so I decided to return to my profession and my calling.

My husband and I have been married for 35 years.

Hobbies and interests:  Avid reader, dinner with friends, church, weekly Bible study, mission trips, gardening, playing guitar (valiant effort), knitting, and politics (I love a good discussion).
