Before and After School Care

The Abercrombie Academy Extended Care Program provides a quality, supervised before and after school care for students currently enrolled in our Preschool and Elementary school.  Our program is staffed by our own qualified and trained Abercrombie employees.  The program is available on the days that school is in session and all parents have the option to utilize the program as needed. After school, children will have a light healthy snack and drink; nap (Preschool only); play on the playground or in our indoor gymnasium; and engage in planned activities such as music, crafts, storytelling, yoga, etc.  The Elementary students also utilize the Computer Lab and have a scheduled time for homework, reading or studying (typically between 4:00 – 4:30 p.m.)

School days: 6:45 a.m. to the beginning of school and at the end of the school day until 6:15 p.m.

Drop-in students will be charged $5.00 for each half-hour.  We have a special Extended Care tuition option for those who will utilize Extended Care on a regular basis.  Smart Tuition ®, our 3rd Party billing company, will handle all Extended Care payments.

Parents must bring their child into the building and sign them in each morning.  In the afternoon, parents must come in and sign their child out.  If another adult other than a parent is dropping off or picking up, the school must be notified ahead of time by the parent and the adult’s identification (driver’s license) must be presented before a child will be released to anyone other than a parent.  If a child has not been picked up by 6:15 p.m. and we are unable to contact either parent, the child’s emergency contact(s) will be notified for immediate pick up. The parent of any child left after 6:15 p.m. will be charged $1.00 per minute thereafter.

We provide a supervised homework/study time each day for Elementary students from 4:00 – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday to accommodate those Extended Care students who may also attend an after-school enrichment class.

The Extended Care Program is a part of Abercrombie Academy so each student is expected to follow the rules and procedures that are specified in our Student Handbook.  Should any behavior issues arise in Extended Care, the Extended Care Supervisor will inform the child’s parent at pick up and the school Administrators will also be notified.

Abercrombie Academy must be informed of any medical conditions, allergies or medications your child is taking.  If a student becomes ill while at the program, a parent will be contacted for immediate pick up.
