School Philosophy
Abercrombie Academy is a private preschool through elementary school that offers a comprehensive academic program to students living in Northwest Harris County. Our classes are self-contained and our teachers are highly qualified.
We believe that a broad range of experiences should be made available to our students. These should expand, develop, and test new concepts of learning within a regulated environment. Our students will be encouraged then, to develop knowledge, insight, and intellectual curiosity.
We believe it is important to instill in our students a love for the democratic way of life, a desire to be law-abiding citizens, and a will to attain knowledge and social skills as necessary tools of life. We believe in stressing the importance of thinking independently, accepting responsibility, and working with others. We believe that opportunities should be offered so that students can experience growth in self-awareness, creative expression, problem-solving, and experimentation.
We believe that traditional and proven methods of instruction, personalized guidance, and firm, consistent discipline are essential in meeting the needs of each student.
In order to accomplish our
philosophical and curriculum goals,
we believe that an environment of cooperation must exist among our
students, parents, faculty, and community.
